Water and Boats

We flew over the destruction below our front range Thursday, where we saw vast swathes of mud. Somehow I was distracted for a moment occasionally by changes in our waters. Specifically the reservoir atop the Mesa hill, that’s somehow dry after our heavy rain. The opposite at Laguna Blanca, where it’s gone from nearly empty to full. Where the Bird Refuge had been so low you could walk out to two of the islands, it’s now full too. Nearby at East Beach are the beached sailor’s dreams so typical of our storms. For some reason, both boats ended up at creek outlets. Something to do with currents, where outflow stops their progress along the beach in wave action?
