Here's an aerial view of the Thomas Fire in the Gibraltar Road area where they managed to hold the North line at Camino Cielo and finally stopped the western spread.
I'm glad to read that some subscribers have found my efforts helpful. I'm about to post a slew more pix on SBitZ.NET, mostly of the severe watershed damage in both Counties. Later I'll try to add some pix of our South slope fire line, and will send Ed anything I find especially interesting. I dearly hope the coming winds don't alter the containment area!
I've been so thankful for Edhat's many contributions to our efforts at tracking this fire, yet so busy posting stuff to SBitZ.NET in support of this! It's nice having a few minutes right now to express that appreciation. Thank you, Edhat!
Thanks, John, for the photo of truly scorched and battered mountainsides. And, thanks for the updates on your blog. You and your posters (I assume fellow pilots?) really put the squeeze on data relating to wind speed and pattern, various airplanes being used to fight Thomas, and much more. Your home being near #154/101 is very helpful, since I live nearby on the other side of #101, and you act as my own private sentry for any and all fires from up on top of #154.
