The top ten holiday movies in the United States have been revealed based on internet search engine studies.
The search experts at Liberty Marketing uncovered the United State’s favorite film by diving into the average number of searches each holiday film gets per month.
According to the results, “Home Alone” is America’s favorite holiday film, based on average Google search volume per month in 2021. America’s second-favorite film is The Grinch (2018), followed by Elf (2003).
Below are the films that made it into this year’s top ten, as well as their average monthly search volumes:
- Home Alone – 499k searches
- The Grinch – 424k searches
- Elf – 398k searches
- Die Hard – 289k searches
- Gremlins – 262k searches
- Love Actually – 254k searches
- A Christmas Story – 188k searches
- It’s a Wonderful Life – 186k searches
- The Nightmare Before Christmas – 156k searches
- Home Alone 2 – 130k searches
“Home Alone” is also the top searched-for Christmas film in a total of 69 countries, with a total of 1.2 million searches a month, making it the world’s most popular Christmas film.
“Elf” follows “Home Alone” in second place on the global scale with 960k searches a month, followed by “Gremlins” with 891k searches a month.
