Trail Rescues in Montecito

Update by Montecito Fire Department

Montecito fire crews responded to an injured hiker on the Hot Springs Trail around 1130 today. We split up to more effectively locate the individual and were on scene with the patient quickly.

Thanks to SB County Search & Rescue for the assist and some of these shots. Also, thanks to SBC Air Support Unit for coming out to help. Ultimately the patient was able to be transported by ground and AMR ground ambulance took over from there.  The team approach makes it all possible.

Your Montecito Firefighters responded to a second trail rescue today on Hot Springs Trail.

At approx 4pm, a hiker fell from standing and suffered an ankle injury. Our medics treated the woman by applying a splint to the ankle.

This afternoon’s rescue occurred just 30 ft away from where another hiker needed rescuing at 11:30am (see previous post for details).

Thank you to our partners Santa Barbara County Search And Rescue & AMR Santa Barbara for assisting us this afternoon.
