Small Brush Fire Extinguished in Buellton

Santa Barbara County firefighters extinguished a small brush fire off Highway 101 in Buellton Wednesday afternoon.

After 3:00 p.m. crews arrived near southbound lanes two miles north of Buellton and discovered a 25×200 foot roadside grass fire parallel with Jonata Park Road.

Responding units were able to stop the fire’s forward progress along with civilians helping with shovels before fire crews arrived.

All other resources were cancelled. On-scene crews will remain in the area to mop up. 

The cause is under investigation.

Around 3:15 p.m. today (Wednesday) Count firefighters responded to Highway 101 at Jonata Park Road in Buellton for a small brush fire. 

Less than 50×50 foot spot fire and forward progress was quickly halted. Additional resources are cancelled.
