A kite surfer in distress was rescued off the Isla Vista Coast Tuesday evening.
At 8:18 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Fire Department deployed an Ocean Rescue Team Response about a half-mile out from the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive.
Fire personnel made a visual on the surfer and used rescue watercraft and a UAV drone.
Contact was made with the male surfer who was assisted to the beach by rescue watercraft at nightfall.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reports there were no injuries.

Some sort of incident. Fire and lifeguards unloading skis and going in the water. 2 skis in the water. Personnel on the beach.
