Is there any shuttle going to the SB airport now? Taxis are too expensive and Uber and Lyft aren’t cheap either. Any other way to get there apart from asking a friend to take me at some godawful hour of the morning?

Shuttle to Santa Barbara Airport?

I take a lot of early morning flights and having had experience with most of the options available, the ONLY company I trust to pick me up at 4:15am is Gold Cab. I've probably used them 15 times and they are consistently 5 minutes early every time. Yes cabs are semi expense, but I seem to get routinely screwed over by everyone else either because they are late, lost, or didn't show up.

It would help to know where you are heading to the airport from. If you are in SB and flying out of SBA, how can you consider a $10 to $15 Lyft or Uber too expensive?

Uber/lyft is the way to go. I used to use roadrunner and I think it was about $27. Cabs were almost $50 to get to SB. Uber has been around $15. Not sure how you can think that is not cheap. Maybe you should hitchhike.

Rose Cab.....regularly use taxi service to SBA or SB Airbus pickup on Cabrillo Blvd. Make a reservation the day ahead of time. Always reliable. Our driver shows up a few minutes early and delivers us safely to our destination. On one early morning ride with us in the back seat, the driver answered his telephone repeatedly (hands free of course). Why all the calls at this hour of the morning, I asked? He explained he was getting calls from customers who were left stranded by Uber drivers who didn't show up. Uuse Uber/Lyft at your own risk. When I really need to get somewhere, I take a taxicab.

I developed a business relationship with a cab driver when I broke my leg. Beside the fact we hit it off and grew up in same neighborhood, he was professional, kind and always on time when I pre-planned trips to appointments. Also inexpensive. I tip him well. It really is all in who you know. If you (can) develop a relationship, you will be well taken care of.
