Scanner: Multiple Emergency Calls for Overdoses in Isla Vista

Initial call at 11:03 p.m. Friday. 6741 Del Playa in Isla Vista. Unknown electrical fire reported.

11:11 p.m. “…Transformer on fire. Light Smoke…” Unknown initial cause of possible damage.

Additionally, at 11:20 p.m., calls are coming in about alcohol overdoses in Isla Vista at Embarcadero Hall. Issues, such as, ETA due to other calls on campus and Isla Vista causing wait times as long as 16 minutes.

Historically, Isla Vista streets are very crowded with people and it’s a crawl to get to any specific address. The parties have been in full swing for a week or two now to avoid the full shutdown on the actual date of the Halloween Holiday.

Isla Vista needs EMS routes only open to Emergency vehicles such as some of those permanently closed streets in the 1970’s opened for Emergencies Only for Emergency Services in the future.

11:30 p.m. Alcohol or another overdose on the 7th Floor of the South Tower at F.T. (now dorms named Santa Catalina)

11:36 p.m. Embarcadero Del Norte, a person on a lawn having possible alcohol or other related issues.

12:03 p.m. [now Saturday] Carrillo Commons, two males in a fight, one subject out of breath due to fight(???)

12:06 p.m. Manzanita Commons, subject suffering from excessive alcohol.Manzanita Village related issue, medic engine on-cite.

12:11 p.m. At Back of Dining Commons…that subject advising release of resources-back-in-service. Unknown actual

N. Tower at Francisco Torres (Santa Catalina) 2nd floor call near elevator, possible alcohol related emergency. Many of these calls seem to be soon-cancelled.

Wow, taketh one back to another instance of this party scene many years ago. Wild History repeats, waiting for the after October reports on substance in I.V. calls, please release the Public Records by SBCO and SBPD near SBCC regarding this.

There need to be isolated pathways such as expanded bicycle pathways 

12:23 p.m. another, Isla Vista Alcohol OD.

12:25 p.m. I.V. Possible Alcohol O.D.  in the 6600 block of Del Playa. Female, believes something may have been put in her drink. Furthermore, Narcan may already be involved as of 12:30 PM.

12:58 p.m. 6500 block of El Colegio. Unknown, yet on site at an Alcohol issue near South Tower.

1:09 Another Code 3 Call, heavily intoxicated, enroute to Goleta Cottage and possible one more right beyond need via ambulance.
