Red Tree on the Clark Estate

By an edhat reader

Driving south on the 101 past the Clark estate last weekend, I noticed a beautiful reddish pink tree among all the green trees and wondered if anyone knows what kind of tree it is?

  1. In most of the Country / World there is a season called Fall. Its a time of year when deciduous trees shed their leaves in prep for winter’s cold temps and decreased sunlight. But here in SB we only have 2 seasons – Foggy and Sunny. So its no surprise that people who are born and raised here have no idea that trees lose their leaves with a glorious show of colors this time of year in most of the world. In the same way that these “locals” have no idea how nice and easy life is in other places, or that there are other places that are far more friendly, beautiful and inviting… However, this tree is likely a Sugar Gum tree as they’re showing their red all over town.
