  1. At Cath Oaks and Turnpike I’ve had about 3 “power warbles” only 2 of which actually shut down my computer. But it’s to be expected in this wind… lots of strain in those power lines when winds gust past 35+mph.

  2. Power at in Mission Canyon on Exeter Pl/Cheltenham.
Called SCE and they said there is no outage in my area. OK, sure.. Geez, whats going to happen when we get extreme weather in SB, is the whole place going to just explode???

  3. SCE power outage map shows outages in 3 areas…
Downtown lower State St, Upper State around mission area and in Goleta just south of the 217
I could hear our local transformer struggle with power flickers earlier. Be safe out there lots of rain forecasted for Tuesday and Wed.

  4. Be cautious using portable generators if you don’t know what you’re doing. They can easily create electrocution hazards due to grounding issues, fire hazards due to electrical connection and fuel storage issues, and carbon monoxide hazards due to exhaust gasses entering nearby buildings. That said, a properly installed generator can be a great help. Any qualified electrician can do the job right or inspect the work of an inexperienced DIY job.
