Edhat reader Patti Gutshall shares photos of large waves and coastal flooding around the Santa Barbara coastline on December 28, 2023.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued several advisories this week for coastal flooding, high surf, and dangerous rip currents.

Edhat has previously reported four surfers from Isla Vista being rescued, one surfer found dead off Mesa Lane, vehicle and RV rescues off Oceano Dunes, and a capsized boat and jet ski riders rescued off Hollister Ranch.
