Greek Gyro Grab-Go Returns!

By the edhat staff

St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church is back with their annual Gyro Grab-Go to fundraise for the church and their cultural events.

The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27, but orders must be placed ahead of time by midnight on August 12.

The traditional homemade meals feature the popular gyros, spanakopitas, fasolakia, loukoumades, and baklava ranging from $7 appetizers to $60 family meals.

Pickup times will take place within 30-minute intervals at their church located at 1205 San Antonio Creek Road, less than four miles away from La Cumbre Plaza.

The local church is known for hosting their popular Greek Festival every year at Oak Park. Although the event was put on pause like many celebrations in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers pivoted to a safer food pickup option and have continued the trend for the past four years.

The church hopes to bring back the full festival in 2024, but is counting on sales from the grab and go to help fund it.

Orders can be placed at https://greekgrabgo.com/ until August 12th.
