I'm wondering if any info as to what all the bulldozing is near the Goleta slough, near all the newer housing?

UCSB, in conjunction with multiple state and local agencies, is conducting a restoration project. Apparently, the Devereux Slough used to extend into that area but when the golf course was built, they hauled in tons of land to fill in the Slough. This project is working to remove that land and restore the area to its 'natural' state. Once completed, it will be re-opened to the public with various walking trails and educational signs regarding animals and plants that are native to the area. You can find out more by googling North Campus Open Space.

Good. I was afraid UCSB was seizing the opportunity to increase student housing.
