A bee colony has appeared in the eaves near my front door in the Noleta area.
Looking for suggestions/recommendations for having them removed (preferred to extermination). Thanks!

Usually, it is temporary and they will relocate by themselves. Just don’t bother them and they will leave in 1-2 days.
Yes, Santa Barbara Hives is great and very efferent. They will also try to keep the swarm together and transfer them to a box where they will be warm and keep the queen safe. Paul Cronshaw has helped me twice with swarms here on the eastside — and the second time, his daughter Melissa was here — Paul said that she is taking over for him. They also know who’s wanting bees and so can relocate the swarm.
OP here. Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll start calling this morning. It’s been at least 5 days now, so maybe they’re not planning on leaving.
LJMDANCE: Please don’t worry about the bees getting into the structure of your house, either. The beekeepers can set up a box containing a new queen (and so on, it gets a bit complicated) and will be able to remove bees without damaging your home in any way. May take a while, though, if the bees are inside the walls. Best of luck and thank you for not using an exterminator or any pesticides.
