Additional Sheriff’s Employees Test Positive for COVID-19

A Sheriff’s Deputy and a Custody Deputy have tested positive for COVID-19.

On December 2, 2020, the Sheriff’s Deputy was notified that they had been exposed to another COVID-19 positive employee during a training the week prior. The deputy immediately began isolation and noticed mild symptoms on Saturday, December 5, 2020. The deputy was tested forCOVID-19 on Sunday, December 6, 2020, and was found to be positive today. The deputy, who consistently wore a mask, was assigned to a specialty position and had limited contact with the public.

The Custody Deputy, who consistently wore a mask, last worked on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 and began experiencing symptoms after leaving work. The Custody Deputy was tested on Saturday, December 5, 2020 and was found to be positive for COVID-19 today.

This brings the total number of Sheriff’s Office employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 to 50, with 47 having recovered.
