We’re seeing/hearing a number of helicopters running both east west across the city, apparent round trips. We’re assuming the flights are weather related. Does anyone have information on this, like what is the western destination?

They are flying low to stay below the major winds. I cannot confirm that they are staging and the signature FBO but it appears that they re running them there to triage as Roger stated. No one was complaining from what I read just trying to get more information.
The questioned comment was not an answer to the reader’s question. There may be people trying to coordinate finding family and knowing that medivacs are triaging at the Signature FBO is pretty pertinent information. Far beyond down voting or overstating the very sad reality that people have died due to a natural disaster that was forecasted and warned against. Terribly sad. I try not to down vote and did not to yours but maybe that would add some perspective. What information are insight was added pertaining to why helicopters are flying below 500 feet over downtown.
They have really been working around weather like cones. I live near Ellings and had an SBC copter fly less than 100 ft over the tree top at my home. they were working around a small cell. I can’t overstate how amazing these guys are or how lucky we are to have the resources we have. This is very tragic.
