It may still be winter but things are heating up on Stearns Wharf! In honor of this iconic structure’s 150th anniversary, Stearns Wharf merchants are holding Wharf Wednesdays on the first Wednesday of each month. There are anniversary specials, free concerts, a bit of history and lots of fun, family-friendly activities.

The next Wharf Wednesday, on March 2nd will feature a brief commemoration ceremony by the mayor and City Council members, a library on wheels, the booming return of the old wharf canon, as well as some rockin’ live music by the Hoodlum Friends. The Hoodlum Friends is a Santa Barbara based cover band that plays an eclectic variety of classic and contemporary rock, folk-rock and surf instrumentals. Festivities will begin at 4pm.

New to Wharf Wednesdays will be the Library on the Go van. With the mission of providing a range of library services to Santa Barbara residents, the Library on the Go van delivers more than just books; it offers free wifi, laptop use and engaging activities for kids.

So, come out to Stearns Wharf for an afternoon of fun in the fresh air! There’s wine tasting, shopping, great restaurants and no better view of Santa Barbara. Whether you bring a date or bring the kids, you won’t be disappointed.
