I am home after surgery, and so haven't been out to look around -- but I keep wondering whether the Sespe River corridor above Ojai escaped the fire or not. Does anyone know?

Looking at the maps it doesn't appear to have. It did get as far as Rose Valley so it could have reached Sespe Creek at Piedra Blanca. Also that area north of Sespe Creek has seen fire in 2004 so and it may not have provided enough fuel.

However on the eastern flank above Fillmore it may have encroached to Sespe Creek and into the Condor Sanctuary but not very far.

I'd suggest checking with Graham Goodfield, Los Padres Wilderness Outfitters. He often takes riders camping in the Sespe so I feel he will have checked if the territory survived. Ph. 331-5961. Web site, WWW.LosPadresOutfitters.com
