Tom Hanks Shines in New Netflix Film

By Jane TV

Netflix’s new comedy-drama film starring Tom Hanks, “A Man Called Otto,” is heartwarming and easily relatable.

Adapted from a novel, this movie focuses on a grumpy widower named Otto who is annoyed by a delightful young family who moves in next door. Although his new neighbor, a pregnant take-no-guff Marisol, forms an unlikely friendship with the curmudgeon. The show hit number one on Reelgood’s Top 10 chart this past week.

In second place is a prequel to the ever popular “Bridgerton” with a character’s origin story titled “Queen Charlotte.” The Netflix drama-comedy sticks with the same formula that made its first show a hit: amazing sets and costumes, fiery passion, and clever comebacks.

Apple TV+ slides in at number three with it’s new dystopian television series based on novels, “Silo.” The premise is fascinating: In a toxic dystopian future where a community exists in a giant silo hundreds of stories deep underground, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them.

What I’m Watching: A Man Called Otto – heartwarming and delightful with quintessential Hanks charm. His 27-year-old son Truman makes his acting debut in the series playing a younger version of his real-life father.
