Sheriff’s Deputy Tests Positive for COVID-19

A Sheriff’s deputy, assigned to a uniformed specialty assignment, has been found to be COVID-19 positive today. The deputy began experiencing symptoms subsequent to his last shift on Thursday, September 17, was tested in the community and did not return to work while awaiting results.

The deputy had limited contact with the public during the course of work duties, but wore a mask during these contacts. A specialty assignment is an assignment other than patrol.

This brings the total number of Sheriff’s Office Employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 to 41, with 40 having recovered.
