Scanner Reports 2-5-20

By Roger the Scanner Guy

I saw that video on YouTube of the library arrest of Johnny Five O, it looked like staged bad acting. Twenty minutes of empty video spent on the ground. There have been others videotaping the SBPD through the years, I have seen many videos on YouTube involving the PD. I dealt with the police in the Stone Age when there were no cameras, it only got physical once. I was drunk, raising hell, stealing from a local store, smoking cigarettes in that store. I had several warrants, did not want to go to jail so I fought and whatever I got I had it coming to me. I was way out of line Easter Sunday1999, the last time I was arrested.

A few years back when Belinda was still among us she had a seizure one day while doing her laundry outside. I heard her fall and went out to help her by turning her on her side, but I could not move her and it looked like her lips were turning blue so I called 911. Firefighters and medics showed up including a medic supervisor. Seizure patients become combative and don’t know they are combative because they are out of it. Belinda in the past begged me not to call 911 but I am not a doctor and I thought with her lips turning blue she was going to die, I did not want to lose her. One look at her the supervisor called SBPD for a combative patient. I got into it with him telling him to leave then, before anyone could do anything I grabbed her because it was a package deal she wasn’t going without me. She nailed me a couple of times but that was OK, the Firefighters and Medics calmed her down and placed her gently on the gurney strapping her in. Two officers came around the corner right after one of them was Officer Hove, he placed his hand on her shoulder and asked her if she was OK. I will never forget his kindness toward her and that of the Firefighters and Paramedics. Though seeing her have a seizure isn’t a good memory, the way she was treated by the responders and Officer Hove is a good memory that warms my heart when I think of it. Thank the Good Dog Santa Barbara has fine officers like Officers Hove and Ortega to represent our city. HERE are YOUR SCANNER REPORTS.
