Santa Barbara Man Charged in Brutal LA Murder

By edhat staff

A Santa Barbara man is accused of brutally murdering a 102-year-old man in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Los Angeles Police responded to the 17700 block of Alonzo Place in Encino, a suburb in the San Fernando Valley. When officers arrived they found Youssef Mahboubian, 102, in his garage. He reportedly died of multiple sharp force injuries.

Police received another call an hour earlier from a nearby street where a separate man suffered lacerations to his arm. This victim was allegedly working in the area when the suspect assaulted him. Home surveillance video shows a man who police believe to be Adam Dimmerman, 47 of Santa Barbara, walking in the neighborhood around the time of the attacks.

Dimmerman was found with an axe and a knife when he was arrested. He is charged with murder, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon. Police do not believe there is a connection between the victims and the suspect.

He’s being held on $2 million bail and appeared in court on Monday but did not enter a plea. His arraignment was postponed to April 13.

  1. LOVING IT… Oh no, don’t you dare try and pin mental health issues on Democrats! THat’s a laugh! Democrats at least try and help the populace with things like access to healthcare, when all Republicans do is help the rich and their donors. Give us all a BREAK.

  2. Wow, not often I find myself on the Sac side of Duke/Sac fence. Many, (not all), of the mass shootings would not have been prevented with additional gun control measures. Unfortunately, there are simply too many guns out there and there is no putting this genie back in the bottle.

  3. Sac – Partisan politics are truly what’s destroying our nation. The far left and the far right have no ability/interest in working with the other side. Both (far) sides are borderline religions with their zealous refusal to work with the other side. And it’s truly from both sides. We see it here with gun control. We’ve seen it many times on here with the teachers union. And these two far fringes (of the left and right) are the vocal ones that push the narrative. It’s truly crazy. We need the center to take control back. So cheers Sac/VOR…look forward to debating and agreeing/disagreeing with you both on the beloved Edhat many times this year!!! (And additonal cheers to you Sac about school being back in session…dear god that took awhile…but we’re back…and my kids are pumped!!!!)

  4. Reagan has been out of office for 32 years. California has been run by demoncrats since. This is their fault 100%. I guess we need to throw money at it, without any accountability. All the new Newsomvilles that have sprung up are demoncrats fault too.
