After all these years as a surfer, I’ve come to realize that surfing is simply a dance. It’s a challenging dance to learn but once mastered is a thing of beauty to watch.
Chris Keet and the crew at SurfHappens do a remarkable job of staging the annual Channel Islands Rincon Classic surf contest where the best of the best surfers from the 805 shred.
The event brings multi-generational families together, kids play beach games or look for seashells, new friendships are made as old acquaintances rekindle memories.
I’m convinced that the annual Rincon Classic surf contest is among the best free weekend events in our community.
