“One Piece” Tops Streaming Show and Movie List This Week

An interesting mix of fantasy and mystery appear to have captivated viewers on streaming networks this past week.

ReelGood released the top ten shows and movies and here’s my take on them:

1. “One Piece” (Netflix):

Setting sail at the top of our list is the beloved anime series “One Piece.” This epic tale follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew of misfits on a quest for the ultimate treasure, the One Piece. With its rich world-building, captivating characters, and exciting battles, “One Piece” has captivated fans worldwide.

2. “Who is Erin Carter?” (Netflix):

Delving into the realm of suspense and mystery, “Who is Erin Carter?” grabs the attention of viewers. This thrilling show explores the enigmatic disappearance of Erin Carter and the unrelenting pursuit to uncover the truth behind her vanishing act. As viewers navigate the twists and turns, they become engrossed in the suspenseful storyline.

3. “Asteroid City” (Peacock):

Embark on a thrilling space adventure with “Asteroid City,” as it takes viewers on a gripping exploration of a city built on a massive asteroid. This action-packed series combines elements of science fiction and drama, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats, all in classic Wes Anderson style.

4. “Ahsoka” (Disney+):

Fantasy lovers are in for a treat with “The Wheel of Time” series, based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling book series. Transporting viewers to a world filled with magic, prophecies, and political intrigue, this highly anticipated show promises a grand adventure.

7. “The Flash” (HBO Max):

Superhero enthusiasts can dive into the adventures of Barry Allen, aka “The Flash,” as he harnesses his superhuman speed to protect Central City from dangerous threats. With its action-packed episodes and engaging characters, “The Flash” continues to captivate audiences.

8. “Only Murderers in the Building” (Hulu):

Combining humor and mystery, “Only Murderers in the Building” stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three strangers brought together by their shared obsession with true crime. As they investigate a murder that occurs in their own apartment building, hilarity ensues.

9. “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” (Netflix):

Providing a fresh and heartfelt perspective, “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” explores the challenges and triumphs of a young girl preparing for her Bat Mitzvah while dealing with social dynamics and personal growth. This coming-of-age comedy-drama resonates with viewers of all backgrounds.

10. “Special Ops: Lioness” (Paramount+):

Bringing gripping espionage to the table, “Special Ops: Lioness” follows the adrenaline-fueled missions of a team of highly skilled intelligence officers. This action-packed series combines intricate plots, thrilling action sequences, and complex characters.

What I’m Watching:  “The Wheel of Time” has been holding my attention with its second season. Admittedly I should have gone back to refresh my memory of Season 1 before starting this new season, but it quickly came flooding back as the story is so darn intriguing.
