I have never tried in in my 42 years
Maybe one of them will buy the restaurant for a good price and continue with the same staff/menu/recipes. Long live Dutch Garden. Sounds like this was a ‘hidden’ gem. I went there once with my adult son. I think I was the only woman in there. That menu was a magnet with men with hearty appetites and a thirst for a good beer. Lots of single guys who obviously were regulars and who were so comfortable going in for a big lunch. Everyone loved their tiny bar, their outdoor patio, the wait staff, etc. Sad I write this in past tense.
I am so sad about the closure! I think that restaurants should WARN us so that we have the chance to go line up like this and support them BEFORE it’s too late. Maybe others will see this and do that, give us a chance to know that they need help.
The owner is closing to retire and enjoy life, it’s not closing due to COVID. Make him an offer to buy the place if it isn’t sold already.
