Half-Staff Flags?

By an edhat reader

Why are some American flags still being flown at half-staff and some of them aren’t? Stearn’s Wharf isn’t flying their flag at half-staff, but a lot in town are. Isn’t there a 30 day rule for these flags after a President passes away?

  1. 93105 Yes, you do digress – looking at the broader picture while reciting “she didn’t win” and “wipe your tears” like a good sheep. Someone who supports the criminal in chief, chiding others for pouting and being “distasteful,” is comedy gold. Merry Christmas!

  2. I believe Trump didn’t have the White House flag at half-mast for John McCain until he was chided for it. Bush may not have been our best president but he as a wonderful, caring human being well deserving of our country’s respect. I am a “lefty” but believe we need to honor those who did their best to serve our nation.

  3. Ummm sure okay thought you would say that all the while missing the point so sorry to offend just SO tired of the complaining and constant despair, I didn’t start the post i read through people complaining about the current state of affairs when the post is a question about the flag at half mass the level of low was already starting and of course we should honor those who have passed and served and we should do so without bashing the current president – peace out & have a great holiday!

  4. Interesting how “righties” never acknowledge that she DID win the popular vote by a significant margin and only the anachronistic electoral college put him in the White house. Whichever way you lean politically, that is the simple truth.
