Grass Fire Extinguished in Los Alamos

Santa Barbara County firefighters extinguished a one acre grass fire near Los Alamos on Tuesday.

At 2:08 p.m., crews responded to a piece of land adjacent to Highway 101 southbound, just north of Los Alamost.  A personnel member of the County Fire Department noriced the fire and called in resources.

Once crews arrived discovered a small brush fire moving at a slow rate of speed with no structures threatened.

Within the hour firefighters stopped the forward progress of the fire and contained the blaze at just over one acre. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
