Identities Released in Double Fatal Traffic Collision Near Lompoc

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has released more information on the double fatal traffic collision that took place near Lompoc early Sunday evening.

Cassidy Falk, 23 of Solvang, and Alia Griffin, 23 of Buellton, were pronounced dead on the scene of a head-on vehicle collision.

Morgan Bouslaugh, 22 of Buellton, sustained major internal injuries and was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.

According to the CHP, Bouslaugh was driving a 2004 Chevy westbound on Santa Rosa Road, west of Highway 101, at approximately 40 mph.

Falk was driving a 2022 Chevy with Griffin as the passenger heading eastbound on the same road at approximately 60 mph.

CHP states for unknown reasons, Falk’s vehicle crossed the painted double yellow lines and traveled directly into the path of Bouslaugh’s vehicle causing the vehicles to collide head-on.

The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.

Two people have died and another is severely injured from a traffic collision near Lompoc early Sunday evening.

Around 5:15 p.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a report of a head-on collision on Santa Rosa Road.

The initial location reported by CHP was in the 6000 block of Santa Rosa Road, between Highway 1 near Lompoc and Buellton. However, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported the location is in the area of Highway 1 and Santa Rosa Road.

According to the County Fire Department, one patient with critical injuries was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital while two other patients were pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation and no other details were released.

This is a developing story.


Head-On Collision Near Buellton

Around 5:15 p.m. (SUNDAY), CHP reported a head-on traffic collision in the 6000 block of Santa Rosa Road. This is in-between Lompoc and Buellton, closer to the Buellton side and near Lafond Winery.

Sheriff office called for County Fire and medics reporting multiple injuries.

Responding units still enroute as of 6:00 p.m.

  1. So young. Did they CHP say what kind of chevy’s these were? I’m assuming trucks. And if they were both traveling under 65mph it’s kind of hard to imagine two fatalities in chevy trucks at those speeds unless they weren’t wearing seatbelts?
