Donna Peddicord Remembers World War II

By Brian Peddicord

In honor of Veteran’s Day, I wanted to share this segment from my grandmother Donna Peddicord’s memorial video I made where she discusses her experiences living through World War II while growing up in Illinois in the 1930s & 40s.

My grandfather, Pat Peddicord, served in the South Pacific as an infantryman during the war and earned 5 battle stars and 3 purple hearts while there. Unfortunately, he came back with a severe case of PTSD which they just called “battle fatigue” during that time. I want to thank all who have served our country and the families who have supported and loved those men and women.
