California Coastal Commission Public Hearing on Thursday, September 14, 2017. The California Coastal Commission is proposing revisions to the City of Santa Barbara Post Local Coastal Program Certification Permit and Appeal Jurisdiction Map. This map depicts geographic areas within the City of Santa Barbara where the Commission retains coastal development permit authority, where the City of Santa Barbara has coastal development permit authority, and where coastal development permits approved by the City of Santa Barbara may be appealed to the California Coastal Commission. The existing map was last revised in 1991.  The goals of the update are to: make the map more accurate and parcel specific using current advanced mapping technology; reflect changes in the natural environment that have occurred since 1991; and correct known errors on the 1991 map.

The California Coastal Commission will hold a public hearing to act on these revisions at 9:00 am Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Cambria Pines Lodge, 2905 Burton Drive, in Cambria. The notice for the hearing is here. The staff report can be found at https://www.coastal.ca.gov/meetings/agenda/#/2017/9, item 8b. Any questions or comments regarding the report or hearing should be directed to Megan Sinkula with the California Coastal Commission at (805) 585-1800 or Megan.Sinkula@coastal.ca.gov.
