Burglary Suspects Arrested in Orcutt Neighborhood

On 05/10/20 at 0317 hours Santa Maria Police Officers were dispatched to Walgreens in the 700 block of North Broadway for a commercial burglary. Officers arrived and discovered suspects had forced entry into the business and stole an undisclosed quantity of prescription medications. 

On the same date in the early morning hours Santa Maria Police Officers were notified the Santa Barbara Sheriffs Office had contacted and arrested two suspects for commercial burglary at a location in Orcutt. 

SMPD Officers made contact with the suspects and were able to determine they were the same suspects who had committed the burglary at Walgreens. 

Suspect 1 was identified as Ramon Sustaita, 19 years, a resident of Fresno CA.

Suspect 2 is a juvenile.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office issued a shelter in place for an Orcutt neighborhood early Sunday.

Around 5:00 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office alerted residents near Bauer Ave to shelter in place as deputies search for suspicious subjects and to call 911 to report any suspicious activity.

The shelter in place request was lifted around 6:30 a.m. confirming a suspect was now in custody.
