Does anyone remember a Burger King on the Mesa? It was quite a few years ago.
I remember the Arby’s, where CVS is now.
I think the CVS was the old Foster's Freeze, but maybe it was a Burger King at one time as well (and I think it was a pizza place....possibly Me-n-Ed's?).
Both Foster's and Me-n-Ed's, later Deano's (sp?) were on the diagonally opposite side of Cliff and Meigs. Deano's is now Fantastic Sams and Subway and Foster's is Chase.
Actually, Foster Freeze was the very first business you'd see on the right as you turned in to the Mesa Shopping Center from Carrillo Street or Meigs Road or whatever that street is called. Burger King was indeed catty-corner from it at Meigs & Cliff Drive. As Ducky points out, it then became an Arby's. What is now McDonald's in the Mesa Center started out life as a KFC.
Yes,they had an indoor playground with ball pit. My son loved it!!
I miss the Mesa Fosters Freeze and Deano's. But the Fosters Freeze I went to the most as a kid was the one on the corner of Canon Perdido and Milpas.
Oops, De La Guerra and Milpas.
The Foster’s On De La Vina, where Chicken Ranch is now, was good too. I miss the old days, too.
Thanks for all the input. It settled a family disagreement :)
EASTBEACH, in the 1950s my friends and I went to the one on Milpas too. I always had a hot fudge sundae. Didn't know of any others in town.
