A New Year’s Wish

By Diana Prola-Washburn

This letter was sent to my Mother and Father in 1939 and I read it each year for inspiration.

“New Years is something very special. It is like being handed a brand new volume with three-hundred and sixty five clean pages, with the responsibility of filling the book left to each individual. I wanted to send you both the wish that each day you  form a pattern of charm and beauty, so that at the end of the year there will be no ugly pages that you would like to destroy, but that you can look back on 1940 and say, it was a wonderful year.

This is my wish for 2021. Happy New Year.
