Ticketing Without Street Sweeping?

By an edhat reader

There has been no street sweeping for the last two weeks on the west side.  So why are they ticketing?

This is on Eucalyptus and Lorinda off Mission and Modoc Streets.

  1. And, the elderly woman who gave a line of us parking & tab expiration tickets…although all were tab compliant….when I caught up with her she said…”I know. My machine goofed. I will give you a correct ticket”. Ostensibly, her response was untruthful
.so many say &:do nothing, hence nefarious deeds are rampant here….far more so than other cities I’ve lived in. It’s a part time job keeping track. Protesting a ticket is outsourced, but filing a complaint is important/crucial.
    “.

  2. most well run cities have no-parking policy on sweeper dates. and sweep streets even if it is raining. and on most holidiays that are bypassed here. or in SB, you may not see a sweeper go by for a month. and they do not sweep streets. nor curbs. lucky to get 2 passes to cover an area that need 5 passes.
but some city parking scooters will ticket a car parked in violation of the sign times – even
if the car arrives after the sweeper gone. greedy? but legal.
but most people have garages full of junk for storage. so not park on property. need a new
    tax on garage misues?
but city also lets taxi and limo buisinesses park on street – no permit needed. or there is an
easy revenute source. unless city already takes bribes and campaign donations?
just wait for the city to let big rigs park on streets. when they go electric?
