Feb 04, 2021 02:07 PMIt's one thing to climb "up" a tree... and more difficult to climb back down again. Thank you to the rescuers. ... I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it is always the same posters who seem to have nothing better to do than to be "snarky" :-(

Feb 03, 2021 05:16 PMNo apologies necessary, Roger. Thanks for the clarification. I hope she gets the help she needs. That being said, the original report gave me a morning of some fine mental comedy. Thank you for that.

Feb 03, 2021 04:17 PMVOR's comment was funny..c'mon.
Have not seen Dwayne either.
VOR..
Yes, the climate changes on it's own, but humans are exacerbating the natural movement (faster), & in a chemically toxic way that the planet can neither heal from, nor support life as we know it, while we continue to live on her.
GhostBear writes;
"We are the only species which competes with Mother-Earth, to live upon her"

Feb 03, 2021 03:09 PMBut, a little off topic.... I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened to Dwayne, the guy that was always on upper Milpas, ready to clean your car ? Usually hanging out near Jack-in-the-Box.... Big black guy... super nice ... I think he's homeless.... Haven't seen him in weeks, but his stuff was in front of a vacant building 331 N. Milpas for a while, but now, that's all gone too...

Feb 03, 2021 01:59 PMIs it not legal to climb trees on city property? I’d like to see that statute. Is that really in any code?

Feb 03, 2021 02:51 PMWhile it is legal she didn't apply for a tree climbing permit which requires she be certified for climbing that species of tree by the city arborist or preapproved tree climbing educational partner, pay the tree climbing permit fee of $5.27 per vertical foot plus $9.75 for each major branch (defined as 4'' or greater branch diameter 6'' out from the main trunk), pay the city reimbursement fees for processing said permit, pay the "equity" fee to ensure tree climbing is available equally to all California's, hire an AMR van to be on stand by (only required for climbing heights greater than 8') and pay the city arborists fee for the post-climb damage inspection. This is of course after it's all approved by the tree climbing committee and all public comments have been addressed.
