Winter Storm Evacuation and Call Centers

A Family Assistance Center will be open at First Presbyterian Church at 21 E. Constance St. The center is for people looking for assistance in looking for friends or family who may have been affected by the storm. The center will be open until 8 pm Tuesday and from 8a – 8p Wednesday.

An evacuation center is open for residents who have been issued evacuation orders as a result of the Thomas, Whittier, Sherpa and Rey Fire Burn Areas.

The evacuation center is located at:

Santa Barbara City College
Campus Center Cafeteria
East Campus Kiosk (entry)
Park in Lot 1B

The evacuation center is allowing small animals.

Large animals can be evacuated to Earl Warren Showgrounds. Small animals can be evacuated to Santa Barbara Humane Society at 5399 Overpass Road. For assistance in evacuating large and small animals, call the County Animal Services hotline at (805) 681-4332.

To determine if your property is in the impact area, please go to www.countyofsb.org and refer to the interactive map. If you do not have access to the Internet, or need assistance evacuating, call 211 or (800) 400-1572. If you are not yet registered for alerts from Aware and Prepare, you should do so NOW – do not wait. To register, go to www.awareandprepare.org.

Due to a high call volume, an additional call center has been established to provide the public with information about the evacuation areas, update on the storm effects, and to coordinate transportation assistance. The number is (805) 681-5542. For text messages, (805) 699-0165.
