Victim Identified in Fatal Orcutt Traffic Collision

The Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau is releasing the name of the decedent from the vehicle accident on February 15, 2022, on Highway 101 near Clark Avenue. The decedent is 49-year-old Raymond Speer of Orcutt.

One person has died after their vehicle collided with a tree near Orcutt on Tuesday evening.

At 6:06 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to Highway 101 just south of the Clark exit for a reported vehicle collision.

Upon arrival crews found a single vehicle had collided with a tree and ended up on its side. Heavy extrication was required to retrieve the only occupant of the vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were traffic restrictions in the area and the cause is under investigation.

Multiple Fatality Vehicle Accident 101 and Clark. 911 responded to a call logged by CHP at 6:06 pm of a vehicle into a tree at high speed. First responders reported four fatalities from the crash.
