Mystery in the Bird Refuge on Christmas morning

Santa Barbara Police are investigating the discovery of a vehicle in the Bird Refuge on Christmas morning.  It looked to be the result of an accident starting on the far side of Cabrillo Boulevard based on skid marks and a path of debris.   The driver was not around when police arrived. The 2017 Toyota was covered in mud when it was retrieved by 805 Roadside Towing, but papers in the glove compartment helped police start to find the registered owner.

Fire department responding to check the inside of the vehicle 1300 Block of East Cabrillo. Police say they need to get inside the car vehicle is unoccupied according to the dispatcher.
