At 2:16 p.m. Wednesday, Santa Barbara County Fire crews responded to a vehicle accident at the Corque Hotel in Solvang at 400 Alisal Rd. When units arrived, they discovered a vehicle up against the side of the hotel building.
Apparently, the elderly male driver accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brakes, causing him to go up over the sidewalk, causing damage to another vehicle parked in the lot. There is no structural damage to the building; the car had simply come to rest up against the wall.
He was treated on scene by AMR paramedics then transported, he had no injuries. The accident is currently under investigation by the Solvang Sheriff’s Department.
