Los Padres National Forest officials today announced the closure of three campgrounds on the Santa Lucia Ranger District during the demolition of old toilet buildings and the construction of new vault toilets. The temporary closure is effective immediately.
Brookshire, La Panza, and Miranda Pine Campgrounds will be closed to the public while these improvements are made over the next four to five weeks. This project work begins today at Brookshire and Miranda Pine Campgrounds, with crews moving into La Panza Campground later this week.
The public is restricted from entering these campgrounds until this work is completed so as not to interfere with construction crews.
This project work is being funded by the California State Off Highway Grant program.
