Suspect Wanted for Attempted Robbery in Isla Vista

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred last night, August 26, 2017, in Isla Vista. At approximately 11:30 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies contacted a distraught female walking in the 6600 block of Del Playa Drive. The 19-year-old UCSB student stated that at approximately 10:45 p.m., she was walking alone in the area of Fortuna Rd. and Camino Corto when she was grabbed by a tall, Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans. The suspect demanded money and told her he had a knife, although no weapon was seen. The suspect held onto the victim’s arm as she turned to run, dislocating her finger.
