Edhat StaffSanta Barbara County Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 35 S. La Patera in Goleta early Tuesday morning.
At 5:53 a.m., crews found a commercial building housing three units with the center unit housing a small interior fire that somehow spread to the roof area. The fire was quickly extinguished inside the unit and on the roof, said Captain Dave Zaniboni.
There was major smoke damage to the inside of the structure as well as minor fire damage. There were no injuries reported and no one was inside the unit at the time of the fire.
A fire investigator will determine the cause.
