Strong winds are expected to begin between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday, December 16. These winds will increase fire intensity.

If you are in a mandatory evacuation area, do not return.

If you are in an evacuation warning area, be prepared to leave immediately.

All communities east of Highway 154, including Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria should be on high alert and ready.  For further information, refer to the interactive map located at countyofsb.org.

The Red Cross Shelter at the UCSB Recreation Center is open.

Santa Barbara County Fire Chief Eric Peterson says, “The incident responders are as prepared as they can be.  This is the biggest defense of a community I’ve ever seen in this county.  Now we need for our community to be prepared.”
