Stabbing of Three Juveniles in Isla Vista

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the stabbings of three male subjects in Isla Vista last night, May 2, 2018, at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the 800 block of Camino Del Sur near Estero Park. Sheriff’s deputies and UCSB Police officers responded to the area after the Santa Barbara County Public Safety Dispatch Center received a report of several male subjects fighting and two that were in need of medical help. When law enforcement arrived, they found an 18-year-old male from Santa Barbara and a 14-year-old male from Goleta lying on the sidewalk with multiple stab wounds.

Sheriff’s deputies along with Santa Barbara County Fire Department and American Medical Response paramedics rendered medical aid to the subjects who were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Soon after, Sheriff’s deputies learned that a 17-year-old male from Goleta with stab wounds had been driven to the hospital by friends and was receiving medical care. The subjects are recovering from their injuries and their conditions are unknown.

Sheriff’s deputies are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident and locate the person(s) responsible. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the stabbings of three male juveniles in Isla Vista.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 pm [Wednesday night] in the 800 block of Camino Del Sur near Estero Park. The incident is under investigation.

Sheriffs deputies have secured the crime scene and are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident to determine and locate the persons(s) responsible.
