The Organic Soup Kitchen donated gallons of soup to the medical staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital during the COVID-19 crisis.

The nonprofit has committed to regularly donating to the hospital and has nearly reached 100 gallons of soup donations. Overall, they’ve been delivering more than 24,000 ounces of soup, or 1,000 containers, to 400 clients a week.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Organic Soup Kitchen has hermetically sealed their soup meals and created a sterile production and packaging process.

“We are busy doing what we do best: strengthening immune systems throughout Santa Barbara County. And, we’re committed to not turning anyone away,” the nonprofit said in an email.

Since doubling their production due to the stay at home orders, they’ve added a bone broth chicken soup to give clients additional recipe variety and immune-boosting support.
