Solvang Man Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

On Saturday, March 21, 2020, at approximately 10:11 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the 400-block of Fifth Street. The victim had been taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. His identity and condition are not available for release. 

The suspect, 25-year-old Elias Murcia-Aplicano of Solvang, was arrested and booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. He is being held on $30,000 bail. 

Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an area canvas in an attempt to locate any additional witnesses. Anyone with additional information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Solvang Sheriff’s Station at (805)686-5000. This investigation is ongoing.
