We are now receiving similar reports in the Carpinteria area- again no valid threat. Deputies are investigating and will increase presence around Carpinteria area school campuses.

Late Tuesday night, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office reported detectives are aware of a circulating threat aimed at Cabrillo High School in Lompoc

According to the department, there is a threatening photo targeting the school campus at 4350 Constellation Road, but it also appears to be the same that’s previously circulated in other states.

“There are no ties to SB County or Cabrillo High thus far…” the Sheriff’s Office stated on Tuesday evening.

In an abundance of caution, the Sheriff’s Office said there will be increased law enforcement presence in and around area campuses.

This is a developing story.
