Search and Rescue Practices K9 Training

Source: Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue (SBSAR)

Last weekend our K9 teams were out at Parma Park above Santa Barbara honing their skills. Handlers worked with their companions on large area and scent pools in steep and narrow ravines. Pictured are Macgyver “Mac” (red/white Aussie) and Miko, who has just recently become mission ready. Our lost subject/SBCSAR team member is shown giving his appreciation to Miko for being found.

For team members that aren’t found at the trainings (just kidding), we are having a recruitment meeting this coming Tuesday (11/2) at the Santa Barbara SAR station at 66 S. San Antonio Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93117. Please join us at 6pm and learn about becoming a member of SBCSAR that work alongside our K9 handlers on a frequent basis.
