The Santa Barbara Fair & Expo opens Wednesday afternoon at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.

This year’s theme is “Barrels of Fun” and will include carnival rides, animals, exhibits, entertainment, contests, demonstrations and more.

There are more than 30 carnival rides of varying levels from a slow-paced farris wheel to thrill seeking twists and turns.

A livestock area will showcase a variety of farm animals including goats, sheep, pigs, steer and more.

The Exhibit Building will display artwork, photography, pottery and many other projects entered by kids from the community.

For those with skills in the kitchen, cooking contests will be held daily with festival goers to try free samples.

If parking is too much of a hassle, a free off-site parking lot with a trolley ride is available to get around that $20/day parking lot.

Learn more about the fair and buy tickets here.
