Santa Barbara TOT Grows 9.2% in August

Source: Finance and Treasury of the City Of Santa Barbara

The City of Santa Barbara received $2.33 million in transient occupancy tax (TOT) for the month of August 2018, which is 9.2 percent above August 2017 collections. This strong growth is due in part to an increase in average room rates and the opening of a new hotel within the year.

The City has collected approximately $4.6 million through two months of this fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30. The City’s adopted TOT budget is $19,605,700.
